YSP

This is John Edgar who uses clay in his work his in this work. In this project he was influenced by British figures.

This head is Peter Murray.

This is Peter Murray clay head. I like his because the texture around the forehead.

This clay head looks better because you can see more of the texture of the clay on the face. I don't like how he did the hair on the head.

This one is my favorite clay piece because the others don't have any facial hair so he also put a lot of detail in the beard as well.

I like how I took this picture because of the composition with the composition you can see more of the detail because of it being close up to the face

To me this is the worst one because you can barely see and of the detail, it didn't help where I took the picture without the flash.

Josephsohn is my next sculpture who I looked at, because I did like a pre research on the guy so I interested to see some of his work.

When I was researching Josephsohn I thought these square sculptures wasn't interesting but because I so them in person I've changed my mind. If I was planning the layout of the artwork I would of put this one outside because the natural light makes this one stand out than it would of been if it was inside with the spotlights.

This one isn't interesting compare to the other square sculpture, but I think that this one should be inside with the spots lights shine from the top to cast a shadow on the other two objects in the sculpture.

This looks like it is made out of rocks and mud but its actually made out of bronze that what I like about it. With the environment it works well with the concrete wall and the natural light curving round the human figure sculpture.

I think this is better than the guy who is standing up is because you can see more detail in this than the other one. I was saying from start that the laying down ones are better outside with the natural light being shining all around the top of the body.

With this one I can see Mount Rushmore but an abstract version as well as the other laying down sculpture this is also great being outside.

This sculptures from now on are from a artists called Lucy and Jorge Orta. I like this because of how the woman of how the hands are positioned but I think it would of looked better if it was inside and the spotlights being at the bottom of the sculpture aiming up.

I don't know what driven the Orta's to make this sculpture but I know one thing it would of looked better outside where the sunset goes so you get shimmering reds into the bottle.

This is what it looks like up close.

This is called a cloud chair there where two of them. I would have put one of them outside and one inside to see how they both look. I like it because you can see the shapes what covered the plastic bottles.
I like this because it looks like a nice little tea house what would look beautiful in the sun light shining on the red plastic. It would also look really nice inside with the plastic as well.

This is the same sculpture but with a different angle, with this angle it makes the house sculpture look like some sort of spaceship, by it looking like a spaceship, you could use you imagination and become a astronaut.

This picture is closer image of the same sculpture so you can see what type of material they used.

YSP Pre- Research

Lucy and Jorge Orta

Lucy and Jorge Orta are Sculptors that uses recycled materials to make their creations. Their size of their sculptors are either tall and thin or large and wide, some of the sculptures are life size so that you could interact with the art work like the cloud chair, you might be able to sit on the sculpture.  The context what they use is where place their sculptures like some looks better outside than inside. Their inspiration is the Environment issues ( like global warming and credit crunch) and also politics. They go on global trips what concerning the 21 century environment and trying to sustain it.

Josephson

Josephson was a sculpture who worked for over 60 years his material was rock which he carved to make it look like a human form. Some of the sculpted artwork is like 155x96x86 cm  and some others are 74x227x55 cm  and the smallest are 17x12.5x5 cm. For the context the widest ones look better outside than inside by the natural light but the taller ones will look better inside because you can  use normal light to make the different sides glimmer and the smallest ones will have to be indoors because the will have to be attached to a wall. The main idea for his work was the evolution of the human form, in a abstract way.
