In 1869 Muybridge invented the "skyshade" device.
1872 took instantaneous photography of the horse, Occident.
In 1889 Muybridge used Zoo gyroscope to photograph moving images of sport.
With Edison joined Zoo gyroscope with the photographers.
Published two books between 1899 and 1901 entitled "Animals in Motion' and " Human Figure in Motion."
He used a series of cameras triggered by electro magnets, to try and prove how horses galloped - weather their hooves left the ground or not the image proves that they did.
The bottom left hand photograph proves that the feet leaves the ground.
